Today I wanted to wear something delicate and feminine – like these pink feather earrings. Because this is exactly what I would like to write about. I feel that  we are missing femininity recently. I’m a feminist as long as I can remember. Over the years, my perception of what it really means to be feminist , has changed a lot. Some years ago, I considered feminists to be independent, self-sufficient, strong women, but I felt they were staying to men in opposition. I’m not surprised that so many women felt like this. I remember hearing from the reporter in radio years ago about the political situation and political preferences. I was shocked by his sentence: “Minority as a women, ….” Half of the planet is a women and half a men. How can women be a “minority”? No way!!! But women drag all this much further. I know strong and intelligent women who demonstrate how independent they are. So much so that they feel offended when the man holds the door for them or when he wants to help with the luggage. Really???

Ale my sme to dotiahli oveľa ďalej. Naozaj???

To me, feminism means equality in the first place, which I understand as equality of opportunities. But I don’t think that men and women are the same. Not at all. For me, men and women are partners. We need each other. We are two parts of one whole. We complete each other.  But we are different. And I enjoy that very much. And we can show that we take care of each other. It doesn’t make me less feminist, when I cook dinner for my family or clean the house. The fact that a man holds a door for me or helps me with shopping bags has nothing to do with sexism. We can stay gentle and feminine and fight and believe in equality.

Kľudne môžeme ostať jemné, ženské a ďalej bojovať a veriť v rovnost.

Anna, I agree with this take on feminism 100%! And as far as holding the door or helping someone with too many bags, isn’t that just common human courtesy anyway? I never understood getting angry at anyone for holding a door open! Great post. Great outfit. And adorable earrings!
