Some fun and LINK UP

It's only fair to share...Share on FacebookShare on Google+Tweet about this on TwitterPin on Pinterest

When you are a parent, it is practically impossible to avoid theme parks. Great are the ones which are called the “edutainment” – they combine the education and the entertainment. We visited such indoor theme park this weekend. Our Little One had great time there and he learned a lot of things. It’s fun for a few hours. The supervision is provided by parents, so they can not leave. On the other hand, activities are only available for children. So it’s not quite the kind of fun like in the theme park, where you can share this experience as a family.

Parents with toddlers have rooms with the entertainment and the education dedicated for this age categhory. This phase is already over for us. The parents with older children (let’s say 9-17 years) have the time for themselves. They can sip a coffee, read a newspaper or just look for something on the Internet. The children come when they need to eat or something else and then they proceeds to their activities. But parents can not leave. At this stage of parenting we’re not yet.

V tejto fáze rodičovstva my ešte nie sme.

We are currently between the age categories mentioned up here, our Little One can fully participate in the activities in the theme parks, but still he need some kind of assistance – move from one activity to another, help him to choose the best activity, to help with planning or explain  some things. This is the parents role. While children are doing the activity (about 20 minutes) – you can take pictures (which we did a review of the park will be in the next post), wax about the fact how adorable he looks in the cook costume (I must admit that it is really cute and we enthused by every costume) or you can have a cup of coffee in this short time slot. We found an empty room and made a couple of photos for the blog.o)

My sme si našli prázdnu miestnosť a urobili pár fotiek na blog. o)

I wonder how you felt as parents in such situations. We love our children and want the best for them. But you know, your children having great time and your are so bored. Do you ever feel like in a trap?

It’s amazing the sacrifices that all parents encounter! It’s at times like those that I appreciate my mother even more!!

We must not have what you are describing in the States because theme parks here are what we consider Disney World, Universal Studios, or Six Flaggs. I do however remember the years you have described. I just always brought something to read or do so I wasn’t bored. I was actually happy to have my child occupied so I could do something. Cute casual outfit.

This is quite new concept. At least it is new here, in Singapore. This park was open just a few months ago and the educational part for children is just amazing. Parents of older children have the lounge where the children are not allowed and is isolated from the big noise. There is wi-fi as well. Thank you for stopping by Amy. o)

I don’t have kids, but I know it is great that there are some activities where parents can have something to do while the kids play . I like the entertainment/education aspect too. Pretty look and you look like your having fun.
    Thanks for linking up

In other parks you can have the fun together. This park is amazing for the children. They have a lot of fun and learn a lot of new things. But I can’t say that is the same for parents. They just wait – for hours. I was with my hubby, so I had the company. And we found our way to have fun – like to take picture for the blog. o))) Thank you for stopping by Jess.

I am grandparent to eight grandchildren! But when my children were young there weren’t half as many activities and themes for them to go to. I would say yes to activities being available for all ages though x

Hahaha bored parents. Yes, I’ve seen that faraway look on the faces of many parents whilst their children had the time of their lives :) I never experienced that with Eve though. When we lived in Singapore, we always did things which required both our participation so I was lucky.

Happy Christmas to you and yours!!!
