I love colorful clothes. I’m intentionally choosing such dresses. But if you follow me for a more extended period, you know that I like to go back to black from time to time. This dress, which I bought online, is one of those times. I couldn’t resist this little dress. I love that it isn’t just black. It has cute little red hearts.

You know that with online shopping, there is always a risk that the piece of clothing will not fit you, or it is not precisely what did you imagine. This time, it was a pleasant surprise. The dress was exactly what I saw on the picture, and it fits perfectly. It was lightweight, which is great for this weather. This dress checked all the boxes. Yay!

The next day, we were going to the shopping mall to buy some stuff. I was wearing my new dress, so we decided to take pictures for the blog before leaving. Maybe now is a good time to mention that all that time – at home and in the parking lot where we were taking pictures, I wasn’t on the direct sun. You will understand at the moment, why is this note so important.

In the mall, we were looking for some specific shops. So we were strolling around, minding our business, when I noticed that something is wrong. People were staring at me. I was thinking:

“I’m looking good, but not THAT good…”

I asked my hubby, and he didn’t see anything strange. I knew I need to check by myself. I stormed into the first shop where I was looking for the big mirror. The shop has intense strip light as the other shops and corridors in the mall. When I saw myself in the mirror, I was dismayed. The dress was sheer. I was flashing my shapewear to the whole world! It was Princess Beatrice situation we are talking about here. Her look was probably intentional but mine was definitely not.

My next steps went to the nearest shop with women apparel, where I bought the black underskirt and finished my shopping in peace. I’m happy that I’m not some celebrity and people weren’t taking pictures of me. And the moral of the story? Next time, to check dress first if it isn’t transparent on the sunlight or another strong light source. o)))
