I came across an interesting blog post written by Jodie from Jodie’s Touch of Style. Jodie was writing about How to Build a Blog After You’ve Started It. Great post, if you need some help with your blog, you will like information there.
At the end of the post is Jodie asking a few questions. One of the questions is covering a topic that I’m thinking about for a while now. She was asking if it is OK to wear the same thing repeatedly on the blog.
This is something that is troubling me. I noticed some backlash towards fashion bloggers on the internet. The bloggers are often accused of supporting and encouraging the fast fashion. I think they are not entirely wrong. Showing every week different outfits might look like fashion bloggers are shopping excessively, having endless wardrobes and never wear the same thing again. Of course, it is not true.
Julia Mooney of Moorestown, the teacher from New Jersey took the whole thing to another level. She conducted an experiment to teach her students to look at the fashion different way. She wore the same dress for 100 days. (You can read the whole article HERE. ) Such a great example of sustainable fashion.
I think that was an exciting experiment and Ms.Monney made her point. But let’s be honest, the fashion blogosphere will be pretty dull if we will showing the same dress all over again. I repeat the clothing occasionally on the blog. But I like to do it more. I think it will be helpful to show more real life. It means to show the same clothing and style them differently. This is what we are doing daily, and I’m sure a lot of people will be happy to see how to be creative this way.
