Health goals and LINK UP 7

That were busy 2 months, I can tell you. And I loved all of that. We celebrated Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year. If you are following me on on Instagram, you saw a few pictures from the beautiful decorated Chinatown. Stay tuned, because I’m not done yet. I have much more pictures for you.  🙂  I’m preparing the blog post about this part of town as well.

Let’s go back to our normal routine. I’m continuing my series about my goals for this year. If you red the my article (HERE), you already know that the second group of my goals is the HEALTH. Now, try to imagine the biggest cliche of all New Year’s resolutions…  Yes, it is the weight loss. So here I’m, trying to lose my weight again. Yes, you are reading this right, AGAIN. Of course, this is not my first time trying this. Some health issues emerging last year force me to pursue this goal much harder than ever.

This time, I’m not fighting this battle alone. I’m using two things which are helping me immensely. First is MyFitnessPal app. This app is helping me to track my weight, food and the water on the daily basis. The second thing is my Apple Watch. The watch is monitoring my hearth and tracking my physical activities. Now I can easily to see the calories received and burned. Which is a perfect beginning to understand my body more.

There is one very important thing to achieve the goal. It is the support. I’m very happy that my hubby is on board. One friend of mine is trying to lose some weight as well, so I have somebody to talk to (or to cry from frustration if necessary  😆 ). And I’m thinking about some online support group as well – FB group maybe. I need to do some research on this topic.

Of course, I’m going to put my goal in the HEALTH category to the S.M.A.R.T. test:

  • Specific – To weight loss.
  • Measurable – 12 kg per year.
  • Achievable – regarding the research I did (the internet and the consultation with the doc) it is possible.
  • Realistic – following the medical advice, 1.0 kg per month is healthy and sustainable.
  • Timed – 1 kg per month.

This one will be not easy at all. Wish me luck. And strong nerves.
