The Indonesian island Bali is Hindu. More than 90% of the population claim allegiance to this religion. We visited a few Hindu temples. Very important one (historically and religiously) is a temple complex Pura Tirta Empul in the beautiful green valley in central Bali village Tampak Siringe.

Pura Tirta Empul was built in 962 AD. The temple has a pure mountain spring water, which believers use for your purification. Legend has it that the sacred spring was created by the god Indra. His forces had been poisoned by Mayadanawa, so he pierced the earth to create a fountain of immortality to revive them. The spring is also called Balinese fountain of eternal youth.

On the hill on the left side of the Presidential Palace Tampasiring from the year 1954. I tis built by President Sukarno and is still government building. It opens to the public occasionally. Maybe next time we will be lucky to visit it.
