We couldn’t go home this year, so we spent Christmas time in Singapore. We created perfect Slovak Christmas here and we enjoyed it. Of course, one very important ingredient was missing in our holiday mix – a winter. As we are only 137 km from equator, it is understandable. And then the beautiful snowy pictures started to flow to my WhatsApp and Instagram. We started to miss the snowy winter fun really badly.

But we live in Singapore. Almost nothing is impossible. So yes, you can have the winter fun on the tropical island. We went to Jurong East to the JCube shopping mall. This shopping mall has on the 3rd level Singapore’s first and only Olympic size ice skating rink.

Check the website to be sure that the rink isn’t close due to training or some other event.

Don’t worry if you don’t have skating boots. The admission includes the rent of the skate boots. You can rent the socks, gloves and the helmet as well. HERE you can check the rates and packeges.

You can save 4,- SGD per person if you bring your own gloves and socks.

Our Little One was trying to improve his ice skating skills. He used the cute aid – the snowman. You can rent it for 11,- SGD for 2 hours. For smaller kids there is the penguin aid available for the same price. You need long pants and sweater or light jacket. The lockers are available (for 2,- SGD) for your belongings as well.

We had a blast there. I felt like back home for two hours. For a moment, there was even artificial snowing there! So cool – literally.
